Infogrames has announced that it is developing a new 3D-action platform game titled Taz Wanted. The game, being developed by Blitz Games, stars popular Looney Tunes character the Tasmanian Devil. In the game, Yosemite Sam has captured Taz. However, Taz manages to break free and becomes a fugitive on the run. Players naturally control Taz, who must destroy all of the Taz Wanted posters and avoid capture by rushing, breaking, eating, spinning, and biting his way through free roaming worlds.
"We are very pleased to be working with Blitz on Taz Wanted," said Kerri Orders, head of family marketing at Infogrames. "Blitz has demonstrated a great expertise in producing high quality games with broad-based appeal. To date, we are confident that our debut launch of the most popular Looney Tunes character, the Tasmanian Devil, on next generation platforms will be one of the most wanted games by both gamers and casual gamers alike. Taz's irreverent and aggressive character is perfectly translated by Blitz into the interactive arena." 
"Taz Wanted has been a great opportunity for us at Blitz to work with Infogrames for the very first time," said Jon Cartwright, project manager at Blitz Games. "Taz is such a wild character and Infogrames has given us the freedom to go to town creatively with this game. We've managed to bring Taz and other Looney Tunes characters to next-gen platforms with fantastic animation. The whole look is true to the heritage of the brand but we've also managed to bring it right up to date putting Taz in a contemporary environment."
The ravenous, relentless, natural disaster of a hero, TAZ, is rip-roaring mad. Yosemite Sam locked him in a zoo and wants to turn Taz’s homeland into a tacky theme park! Now as an escapee, Taz is on the run gobbling power-ups, using disguises and leaving a wacky wake of destruction across four hazard-filled worlds in an attempt to stop Sam. After being captured by Yosemite Sam - President of ACME Corporation -- Taz must break out of the Sam
Francisco Zoo and make his way to Tasmania in order to rescue the She-Devil and save the world from the power hungry Yosemite Sam, all the while avoiding Sam's "Taz catchers" and destroying all of the wanted posters that he can find.
Taz is an absolutely unstoppable, whirling, twirling, hurtling, landscape-eating perpetual motion machine, constantly faced with the threat of the Taz catchers. Luckily for Taz, there are a multitude of ACME items to find throughout the various worlds, which provide him with plenty of power-ups and special powers. The levels in Taz: Wanted have a free roaming architecture, which allows Taz to explore, investigate, complete or destroy them in any way that the player sees fit.
Taz is aware that he is being watched, and will interact with the player in this interactive cartoon concept game. There is also a storyline, dialogue and plenty of slapstick humor to remind the player of their favorite Looney Tunes cartoon character.
